Man. For some reason it seems I can easily go several weeks (cough, months?) without updating sometimes. I wish I could say it was just a busy season (which it has been) but every season seems to be busy, so this is our new “norm”. But I wanted to do a blog post highlighting the most recent pictures that Michelle took for us. She always takes beautiful pictures. And she always has a way of capturing Micah in a new way. I am lucky to call her sister, but even if she wasn’t family I would hire her in a heartbeat. She pours herself into what she does and it shows in each and every one of her photos. Check her out and you will see what I mean.
But anyways, Michelle came over and captured what real life at 14 months looks like with Micah. And she did it beautifully. She caught Micah’s sign language “please”, the last minute hair trim, the goofing off with dad, and the nursing. I teared up when she sent the pictures. If you have seen this blog before, then you probably know by now that breastfeeding did not come easy. About a year ago at this time I was practicing deep breathing with every latch and Micah was going into the pediatrician’s office monthly for weight checks. Fast-forward one year and we are still breastfeeding, it doesn’t hurt one bit, it takes less than an hour (ha, more like 3 minutes tops), and that bond is there. What a gift. I don’t take it lightly. So, having these pictures… there really aren’t any words.
Thank you Michelle. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
