My approach

Offering evidence-based, in-home support to help you reach your unique goals.

Values that influence my practice.

1

Client-Centered Care.

In my practice, it is important to me that your unique goals are at the center of every care plan we create. I aim to offer evidence-based support, education, and resources to help you reach your unique nutrition and lactation goals.

You may have heard the argument of “breast is best” vs “fed is best”. I believe that both of those statements unfortunately miss the mark. Instead, I take the approach of “support is best”.

2

Accessible Care.

I believe quality lactation and nutrition support should be accessible. It is important to me that you have the option to receive care in the comfort of your home- in person or virtually.

Additionally, I partner with The Lactation Network to accept insurance for lactation services and need-based discounts are available. WIC, Medicaid clients, and those with financial need are encouraged to inquire. Please contact for more information!

3

Equitable Care.

There are deep-rooted, historic traumas surrounding nutrition and lactation that continue to cause numerous health disparities. For this reason, I am committed to building an inclusive, social justice-informed practice. I am also committed to giving back a portion of my profit to non-profit organizations committed to advancing health equity in nutrition and lactation spaces.

FAQs

Why “Just Nourishment”?

All of my passions in nutrition are rooted in nourishment. I see food (in all stages of life) as one of the many ways we nourish ourselves and one another. I firmly believe that guilt or shame should never be involved when it comes to food. And I share in a vision that one day, we will strip all the stigma away from food and appreciate it for what it really is- just nourishment.

Why in-home lactation visits?

I remember how difficult it was to get out of the house with babies. Inevitably, there was always a diaper blowout, a sibling to entertain, a nap schedule to compete with, etc. Additionally, transportation can be a barrier to support. For these reasons, if you live in Northern Colorado, I am thrilled to come to you. I will bring my infant scale and we can troubleshoot any concerns you have in the comfort of your home. And please… do not spend an ounce of your energy on cleaning up before the appointment!

*If you are not local or an in-home visit does not meet your needs, no worries. I offer virtual appointments as well.

Do you recommend meal plans or specific diets for weight loss?

Great question! To begin, body diversity is a beautiful thing and health is so much more nuanced than weight. Also, let’s just point out the elephant in the room- the diet industry profits (billions!!) annually convincing us we need to lose weight or go on another diet. And research shows that diets rarely “work” long-term. Furthermore, (especially if we are talking about children) dieting is a risk factor for developing an eating disorder. As a Registered Dietitian & Certified Intuitive Eating Counselor, I adhere to a research-based approach to nutrition, focusing on individual needs and establishing a healthy relationship with food instead of simply weight.
